Cut My Hair :3

The heat and life in general has been making me feel veryyy gross lately, so I took a shower, as one does, and used the wet hair as an opportunity to snip away at my hair again. I've been considering going to a hairdresser for once and getting my hair cut properly, but they always tell me no to what I want because of my hair texture (funny, considering I can manage just fine with my kitchen scissors and zero experience...). That's the thing about professionals in general though, I suppose. They want things to look... well, professional. They can't seem to handle a purposeful request for something unflattering.

ANYWAY. I redid my layers relatively recently so I've left those alone for now, but finally switched up my middle part back into a side fringe. I'd been holding off for a while because it's harder to look like a boy with Rainbow Dash hair and I like to when I'm not busy caking my face with makeup I'm supposedly too feminist for. Right, side fringe. Nothing too complicated, I just created a triangle of hair using the ends of my eyebrows for reference (no tools, just my fingers), pulled it to the side, and snipped it right under my cheekbone before combing it over to the other side.

See, normally, I'd have it over my right eye, but I want to get an eyebrow piercing on that side. That, because I have a nostril piercing on the left and it'd make my face too unbalanced. Which is fine, whatever EXCEPT now my more heavily pierced ear (7 holes vs the 1.5 on my right ear LMAO) is completely covered by my hair. Nobody ever gets to see my beautiful, gorgeous industrial piercing which I definitely didn't actually have the anatomy for but my dodgy piercing place went through with regardless and I can't even complain because it healed shockingly well. Piercings, the ones I already have and the ones I plan to get, are the bane of my existence. But this blog post is about hair not piercings, so I digress.

Anyway, though it's nothing special, just choppy layers, I think this cut is something I'll be sporting long-term. It's been around 3 years and I haven't gotten bored yet (every time I do, I cut more layers) which is promising. My desires oscillate wildly between short and extremely long hair (the former of which I had a few years ago and ADORED, but hated the process of growing out), so cutting the upper layers short without losing length from the rest is a happy medium for me. I also have the added benefit of a natural 2a-2b texture, so I don't really have to style my hair much. That is something I will never have enough patience for. I like just giving my head a good scruff and being ready to go. On the flip side, it's also boring enough that I can easily look respectable/professional when needed. Which is sadly a lot now that I am an adult on the job market. (Harvey Specter if you are reading this please hire me)
