GTA: VICE CITY

Getting this game to work on my Windows 11 PC is, and I don't use this word lightly, a bitch. I tried every troubleshooting method I could think of, even resorting to reinstalling Windows. It's still incredibly buggy, freezing up every once in a while forcing me to restart my computer, but it's fine. Of course the first thing I did was change the default radio station to Rock and turn myself into a pretty girl :3



I did make some progress on the missions, but found the allure of mass murder quite hard to resist. Killing people, waiting for the paramedics to arrive, and killing those too so more are sent over for them is highly entertaining. I did also use a cheat code to create a harem of women around me who I can kill intermittently to earn some cash. Of course the feminist in me would prefer them to be men, but alas.



Obviously, this is a very violent game but I didn't remember it having this level of graphicness to it? I accidentally discovered you can blow people's heads off and they spurt blood like a fountain. So fun.



As a kid, I loved riding on sleek motorbikes, but they're too time consuming to look for, so I've been using a hearse mostly in typical edgelord fashion. I love the detail of the coffin in the hearse being different each time it spawns. The speaking segments of the radio are also hilarious.



Because of my laptop's propensity to clash whenever I run VC, I have to keep going back to the hotel to save my game after every little thing. This would be annoying, but I had to do this as a kid anyway, because we never knew when they'd cut off the electricity and I'd lose all my progress. Hmm, I wonder if that's still a thing.

EEEEE I am SO excited, I just got a copy of Vice City!! I was RAISED on this game, no joke I've been playing it since I was 5 years old, so it means the world to me. I never actually got too far with the missions as a kid because I was too busy memorising cheat codes and committing mass murders, but it'll be fun to do a proper play through for once. Incidentally, this is the first time I'm playing a non-pirated copy.
