POPTROPICA

Self-soothing by playing my favourite game of all time, Poptropica, on Flashpoint again. This is my character and best friend for many years, Shiny Dolphin. She actually turned 13 this year! I find Home Island and the character of Amelia (yes, like Amelia Earhart) soooo condescending acting like I'm new to Poptropica as if I had't been playing for half a decade before she was even created. Stupid coloniser....

I don't really like any of the new AS3 islands much, but the older ones don't load Shiny Dolphin's assets correctly, so today I'm playing Mocktropica Island. I love meta things, and it was such an apt prediction into the future of Poptropica. It's probably the last good island they released.

There's something about the Poptropica humour I really enjoy too, it's aged well and I enjoy it as much at 21 as I did at 11.

It's always entertaining to see things (lovingly) make fun of their fanbase. Though Poptropica does it way better than say... the latest season of Doctor Who.

HAHAHAHA they even predicted the use of LLMs in historically creative fields leading to staff lay-offs.

The development team's depiction of themselves is so funny. As is the inclusion of the infuriating Clippy. So many things here you need to play at an older age to truly appreciate.

Once again, just a hilarious island.

Self fulfilling prophecy....

This Poptropican was glitching out and I wanted to see if the effect was costumisable. The shirt wasn't but the hair was, which is pretty fun.

Is that a Dead Poet's Society reference...

My game ended up actually glitching so I think I'll need to restart it :(( Not that I've made much progress, but I can't be bothered to do it all again right now, so that's all for today.
